How ranking works

Founders can pay to have a battle shown more often. Nobody can pay for votes, rankings, wins, or a better result.

What money can and cannot buy

A paid campaign buys impressions — eligible presentations of a battle to voters. That is the whole of it. Paid exposure has no effect on vote weighting, leaderboard position, winning probability, results, or the appearance of the battle card, where both products always get identical treatment.

Structurally, campaign and payment records are never joined to vote records in any query that produces a result or a rank.

Why not just count votes

Ranking by raw vote totals would rank audience size. A product with a large existing following would top every board on its first day, and the board would stop telling you anything about the products.

How a score is built

  1. Only votes that pass the integrity system are counted.
  2. Votes arriving through a startup's own shared link count 0.35× towards rank, because that audience is self-selected. They always appear in full, and separately, on the battle page.
  3. Each matchup's win rate is converted to a statistical lower bound, so a small lucky record cannot outrank a large hard-won one.
  4. Older battles count for less, halving every 14 days.
  5. Beating the same opponent repeatedly does not build rank. A full score needs at least 3 distinct opponents.
  6. Below 50 valid votes across 2 distinct opponents, a startup reads “Not yet ranked” rather than being placed last.

Vote integrity

Votes are checked server-side using several signals together. A suspicious vote is quarantined for review rather than deleted, and re-checked later with more context — so a mistake can be undone, which a deletion cannot.

The exact thresholds are not published. That is the only detail withheld on this page, and it is withheld because publishing it would help people evade it rather than help anyone understand the results.

Unclaimed profiles

Some profiles are created from public information about well-known products and are labelled Unclaimed profile. Those companies have not joined, sponsored, or endorsed this platform, and nothing here implies they entered a battle voluntarily. Anyone who represents such a product can claim it by verifying the domain, or ask for it to be corrected or removed.

What the numbers mean

Every figure on this site comes from real activity. When there is not yet enough of it, counters are hidden rather than padded. Results represent people who voted here, and are not a representative sample of any wider market.
